In the old land
Desecrated by the sins
Blown away as the sands
The endless torment within
Leap in the fire
Crackles as the demon’s face
Fed by the lie
In their disgrace
The tears drive
Seeping from your cheek
From within your power thrives
Let love’s strength heed
As Heaven obliged
The angels descend from the black night
I looked up at the sky
So curtained of white
Holding us together now
As much as affections deem
Push off the devil’s prowl
We’ll unify, for now in dreams

There! An somewhat apocalyptic, yet romantic attempt at a poem. I hope it produces food for thought.
Reading Chris Cornell's (I'm his protegé, amirite?) Soundgarden lyrics helped in trying to think of an apocalyptic wording. Cornell has written songs about various topics (Love, end-of-the-world scenarios, recuperation, JAMES BOND), they're all good to read as a poem and analyse to joy's content. Writing will now take a break as I concentrate on booing Russia in the Euro 08. |
